Skin Needling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or Facial Mesotherapy, using a dermal roller is an exciting skin treatment.
The Skin Rollers have been designed for and to provide scientifically proven results for the treatment and management of such conditions including, but not limited to:
Skin Needling can treat sensitive areas that other treatments have to avoid, such as below the eyes, the neck and the back of hands.
The skin is red and swollen for one to two days with a light grazing over the treated area appearing on day two. Most patients are able to return to work and normal activities within 48 hours of treatment.
Multiple treatments are usually necessary to achieve significant improvement in the appearance and depth of lines and scars. Treatment effects are cumulative and will usually be seen within 6-8 weeks of each treatment.
In comparison to prolonged recovery time from laser resurfacing and chemical peels, the short recovery following Skin Needling makes it an excellent alternative method of improving lines and scars.
1. Before performing the treatment, you must first identify the suitable needle length for use.
2. Disinfect position need cared and the equipment.
3. Clean skin, rinse thoroughly and towel dry. Apply suitable functional nutrition on skin need to be cared if required. Apply lidocaine 2-5% on skin. You may also apply 2% xylocaine.
4. Roll back and forth horizontally, vertically and diagonally at least 4-5 imes across the area of urge and keep equably in speed and pressure. The entire process should require no more than 10 minutes

A 0.2 mm or 0.25 mm roller can be used every second day.
A 0.5 mm roller can be used once a week.
A 1.0 mm roller can be used once per 2-3 weeks.
A 1.5 mm and above roller should not be used more often than once every 5 weeks.
The instrument can not be overused as the needle will remain sharp for a prolonged time.
Not suitable for use on the following skin conditions: active acne, psoriasis, and raised moles or warts, etc. it should be stored in the supplier plastic box for maximum hygiene and safety after use. Keep out of reach of children.
A derma roller can be reused for one patient up to a maximum of 6 treatments. Replacement is necessary thereafter.
Roller Needle sizes for home use include 0.5mm, 1mm (1.0mm), 1.5mm and for professional use. There are also 2mm (2.0mm) and 2.5mm rollers. There are also 3 line rollers (made narrow to reach harder to treat areas like around the nose) in 1.0mm and 1.5mm sizes.
Eye Contour Area
The eye contour area is delicate. Because of this, we recommend the .2mm narrow roller for the eyes.
1.0mm for light stretch marks and 1.5mm for deep stretch marks, you would need to decide which would best suit your needs.
0.5mm for light acne scarring, mild chicken pox scars or ice pick scars, or simply regular anti ageing treatments. A 1.0mm roller is more suitable for deep acne scarring, surgery scars, ice pick or chicken pox scars, and 1.5mm Derma Rollers are for very deep scarring. A Derma Roller 1.5mm is the maximum we would recommend for use on the face (unless as part of a professional treatment), but your body is less sensitive to treatment, so you should decide which would best suit your needs.
You may also wish to choose the 3 line roller as it is better suited to use on certain parts of your face (such as around the nose), but it is not always necessary as our regular roller may suit you.
For thinning hair or greying hair, the 0.5mm Derma Roller is ideal, with 1mm rollers more suitable for more extensive hair loss.
The best needle size for cellulite is 1.0mm to 1.5mm depending on how severe the case is.
Is the right Derma Roller needle length the only factor?
No. It is also recommended to use the following the appropriate mesotherapy products to complement the derma roller application.
What about sterilizing your Derma Roller?
To sterilize your Derma Roller, we recommend the same product used to sterilize baby’s bottles (sterilization liquid or sterilizing fluid).
Remove all make-ups and cosmetics completely.
Cleanse the skin area with mild cleanser.
Apply anesthetic cream Lidocaine plus prilocaine for 25 ~ 30 minutes
Cleanse the area with warm water and sponge
Cleanse the area with antiseptic solution to avoid any bacterial infection.
Roll horizontally + longitudinally + diagonally over the same area to form dense channels.
Go over age signs by pulling the skin, make a light pressure over the eyes contouring and forehead.
Be careful not to roll over lips.
Treatment should last around 15 minutes.
Put on a calming mask for 30-35 minutes to reduce inflammation and redness. In place of a mask, you can use an anti-bruising cream with active ingredients vitamin K and Arnica.
Apply moisturizing cream and sunscreen.
Avoid sweating and sun exposure for 24 hours after treatment.
Rub the Farmapiel Serums Line on the face or body 2x a day after treatment for 3 weeks. It is important to follow the treatment with a good daily maintenance regimen which includes a product specifically formulated for post transdermal therapy.
Clean roller with running water and remove foreign particles on needles with a brush.
Sterilize roller in 70% alcohol for about 10 seconds.
Place roller in the head cap and let it dry completely.
Autoclave must not be used: Roller can get damaged by heat.
First 5~6 weeks, treatment should be every week or every ten days
A once monthly treatment is recommended for maintenance.
